Longhorn Cattle

The Longhorn is a beef animal and is known for its lean beef, which is lower in fat, cholesterol and calories than most beef.

Known for their hardiness, Longhorns can thrive in country where no other breed can live. They can stay fit and fertile on marginal pastures and are also known for their longevity. Longhorn calves stand quicker than other breeds and they are know for their easy calving abilities when crossed with other breeds.

The majority of our longhorn herd is commercial. We currently have 2 TLBAA registered bulls turned out with our registered cows and commercial cows breeding for replacement heifers. The seven foundation bloodlines of the Texas Longhorn were Butler, Marks, Peeler, Phillips, Wright, Wichita Refuge and Yates. Our bull CL Blue Image, traces back to all 7 of the foundation bloodlines, and our bull CL Respected Man, traces back to 5 of the foundation bloodlines (no Peeler or Yates bloodline).
